Document Process Automation Print

Using the rapid development tools provided by Perfectus Technology, organization and system integrators can leverage enterprise content to build Document Process Automation (DPA)solutions.dpa_diagram

DPA looks at those processes that involve the initiation, creation and delivery of documents. Documents are simply containers of information and may be XML blobs, answer sets or the more traditional Word/PDF files.

The execution of a document automation process achieves a business objective from a sales contract, HR agreement or complaint letter.  The people and systems may be inside the organization at a departmental level (correspondence management) or enterprise level (bank loan origination) or external services (legal portal). These processes include business rules that may be documented policies and procedures, as well as the undocumented ‘how we really do things’ rules that exist in most enterprises.

A comprehensive DPA platform provides an organization with the ability to collectively define its document-based business processes and deploy those processes as applications accessible via the Web that are integrated with its existing software systems. DPA systems:

  • Integrate content with existing operational systems such as:
    • Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
    • Enterprise Content Management (ECM)
      • Portal
      • Document management
      • Records management
      • Collaboration
    • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
    • Business Process Management (BPM)
    • Other repositories or legacy systems
  • Incorporate the business rules that guide a business
  • Offer managers the ability to deal with exceptions when they occur by changing business rules or entire processes to respond to business conditions in real time
  • Are process orientated as opposed to document centric
  • Have business level ownership, not IT.
